THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) sets out the terms and conditions under which the Jamaica Canadian will provide use of its commercial kitchen for clients participating in the above programs.
 
DECLARATION OF COMMITMENT TO PROGRAM THEORY:
 
Black Creek Micro-Credit Lending Program and its participants declares that it will uphold the program theory as outlined below:
 
OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM
This partnership leverages JCA’s commercial kitchen to provide affordable rental space to small businesses supported by the Black Creek Micro-Credit Lending Program.  JCA currently provides a range of rental options for no-profit organizations.
 
Fees
JCA charges Black Creek Micro-Credit Lending Program the following fees for rental of its commercial kitchen from Tuesday to Thursday:
  • Four hours: $150
  • Eight hours: $275
RESTRICTIONS & DURATION: This MOU applies for 12 months effective May 1, 2018.
 
ORIENTATION AND SUPPORT & CONDITIONS OF USE
  1. JCA commercial kitchen is available Tuesdays to Thursdays for a four or eight hour period
  2. Black Creek Micro-Credit Lending Program participants must adhere to the following:
    1. book the space for either four or eight hours, a minimum of seven days in advance by emailing: hallrental@jcaontario.org
    2. Sign a contract and pay the fee (by cheque, debit or credit card) prior to accessing the kitchen; the fee is non-refundable except under exceptional extenuating circumstances
    3. Complete the rental checklist prior to and after use
    4. Ensure the kitchen is left clean and garbage disposed of
  3. Supplies and food cannot be left on the premise; JCA takes no responsibility for lost or disposed of items
  4. Participants must adhere to proper food handling practices and follow safety guidelines
  5. Participants should provide a copy of their food handling certificate
  6. Rental of the kitchen is on a first come first serve basis and may not be available at all times
  7. JCA does not provide supplies, ingredients or utensils as part of the rental
  8. The kitchen is not available for rent Friday to Monday.
  
DECISION MAKING:
Final decision making authority rests with the JCA Board of Directors

RENEWAL OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
This agreement is subject to renewal as of April 2019 if agreeable by both parties.
 
TERMINATION OF PARTNERSHIP
This agreement can be terminated by either party with sixty days notice. The JCA reserves the right to terminate the agreement if the terms are not adhered to.
